Earlier this month, the world's largest plane touched down in Perth to scenes of traffic chaos, as tens of thousands of excited spectators gathered for its maiden voyage Down Under.
Developed in the 1980s to carry the Soviet version of the space shuttle, the Antonov An-225 is a Ukrainian cargo jet which boasts an unprecedented maximum take-off weight of 640 tonnes (gross). It’s rare to see Mriya (as it is also known) in action, averaging one to two voyages each year.
