Devastating Tianjin Explosion

It's now believed at least 50 people are dead and hundreds more are injured following a massive explosion that devastated the Chinese port of Tianjin on Wednesday. With the force equivalent of two dozen tons of TNT, the blasts (which struck close to midnight on the 12th August 2015 local time) were visible from space and registered as magnitude 2.3 and 2.9 earthquakes.

Officials are still accessing the scene which has left vast areas of Tianjin port completely destroyed. It's believed the blasts originated from a privately owned warehouse which was used to store hazardous chemicals.
